Rachael Brown
Owner + Stylist
13 years in and her love for the industry just keeps growing.
With a true passion for education, Rachael is continually growing and evolving as a stylist, seeking out new trends, taking classes and collaborating with other artists are things that she holds with great value.
Rachael specializes in a mix of balayage, dimensional color, and handtied extensions. These skills allow her to create a perfectly customized style for each guest, and send them home feeling confident and knowledgeable in their ability to recreate this new look at home.

Tammy Coe
Color Specialist
Tammy is a born and raised Michigan girl who grew up loving northern Michigan.
After several years of dreaming and planning, she feels incredibly blessed to have found a new home town in Traverse City. She brings with her 16 years of experience as a hair color specialist at Douglas J Salon Okemos where she learned the importance of pursuing the highest technical standards as well as delivering an exceptional guest experience. She absolutely LOVES being a hairstylist! When she’s not in the salon, you will usually find her hanging out with her family. There’s her amazing husband, her two step-kids (both teenagers-yikes!) and her brother Lance, who has special needs. Tammy has the privilege of being Lance’s guardian and caregiver. He’s her constant side-kick and her best buddy.
Libby Semeyn
Stylist
Libby has been doing hair in Traverse City since 2008. She has a fun, outgoing personality and loves to be active outside of work and in the community making conversations easy, positive and upbeat! Libby attended Douglas J. Aveda Institute but knew she needed to get back to Northern Michigan to pursue her career as a stylist and take full advantage of all that northern michigan as to offer.
Through the years, as she has evolved as a stylist, libby has focused her continuing education mainly on creative, dimensional color and blonding, using many methods and techniques and pairing them perfectly with a custom haircut that accommodates your lifestyle.
Andrea Tharp
Stylist
After being behind the chair for over 18 years, Andrea has a true passion for her craft. In this ever evolving industry, she continues to take classes and stay up to date on all of the latest trends. Connecting with each guest to help guide them to the best color and cut uniques to them gives her great joy.
As a mom of two little boys, Andrea understands what it means to have “easy” hair when your life gets busy. Whether that is dimensional color for a natural looking grow out, or a textured haircut for that wash and wear style, she is committed to customizing the perfect look for your hair type and lifestyle.
Andrea moved from Royal Oak to Traverse City 9 years ago and couldn’t be happier. Raising her sons in such a beautiful city and community was the best decision she ever made.

Kelsey Armour
Stylist
Traverse City native; Kelsey, got her education in East Lansing at Douglas J Aveda institute. After two years of working at the Douglas J Salon in Okemos, home was calling her name and has now been back in Traverse City for 5 years.
Kelsey specializes in creative cutting , but also has a love for creating a uniquely beautiful color to go along with it. Her main focus is making her clients feel and look amazing and confident with any style!

Jen Nolan
Stylist
Jen has been in the salon industry for 27 years. From a Douglas J Academy graduate, Douglas J Salon stylist, to co-owning an Aveda salon in Dewitt for many years. Her extensive experience makes Jen well versed in many techniques in both color and cutting. Skills that have assisted her in creating designs that suit each guest individually. Her love of northern Michigan lead her to Union and Mane. " I couldn't ask for a more beautiful, welcoming atmosphere for my guests”.
Other than her passion for her craft, Jen is also a Certified Practitioner of Esoteric Healing. (Energy Healer) as well as an avid gardener, and full time Mom to two teens.
